Rufus was adopted as a small puppy from one of our rescue partners in Florida and lived with a family there for over a year. Coincidentally, the family moved to Vidalia and into a small apartment that was not suitable for a big, outgoing, goofy dog like Rufus. SOAPS and all our rescue partners have a policy of taking back any animal adopted if for some reason the family is no longer able to keep it. So Rufus finds himself “bunking” with the other SOAPS fosters until he returns to Florida or finds a home here. Meanwhile, even the youngest SOAPS volunteer knows that the foster dogs like Rufus enjoy some attention and treats!
